Kenyan Sand Boas

Kenyan Sand Boas are a very docile species of snake. They burrow and make tunnels in their substrate, and often you will not see their whole body at one time unless you take them out of their habitat. The great news is that they tend to be very willing to be held and touched.

Western Hognoses

Western hognoses are also burrowing snakes. They are adorable, though much more on the sassy end of the spectrum. They usually don't bite, but they do tend to put on a big show by flaring their head and neck, hissing, and striking with a closed mouth. They will even play dead if they feel especially threatened. In general, they can get used to handling and settle down to make great pets. They are not for timid owners.

Purchasing and Adopting from Becky's Bitty Critter Boutique

We strive to only send healthy animals to new homes. We socialize our snakes and make sure they are eating well and will take frozen/thawed rodents as food. Our goal at BBCB is to make sure every animal that leaves our care is able to have a thriving life at their new home.

Since the temperament and care of each species is different, we strive to help educate new owners so they can make the best decisions on what snake is most suitable and assure that a proper setup will be available for the snakes when they arrive. Each individual snake will have temperament differences as well. Any noteworthy personality traits will be communicated for optimal matches between pet and owner.

It is important to QUARANTINE any new animals you bring home before they go near the ones you already had. This is to make sure any illnesses the new animals have, either from where you purchased them or from the stress of travel, don't infect your other animals. Even if they look perfectly healthy, sometimes things are missed.
